Manifesto - New Chemical Marriage of Christian Rosenkreutz

The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz  appeared in print in 1616 in Strasbourg as the third published manifesto of a “Brotherhood of Rosy Cross”. It is regarded as a work of alchemical symbolism and describes the participation of a Christian Rosenkreutz in the sacred wedding of a king and a queen in a miraculous castle. 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of this amazing document and we are pleased to give you a copy of a new publication, The New Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz. I am sure you will find it as fascinating as we do.
Who is Christian Rosenkreutz and why was he invited?
The first Manifesto, the Fama Fraternitatis published in 1614 tells the story of the orphaned Christian; at the age of fifteen, setting out to seek enlightenment in Syria and Egypt where he devours the wisdom of  mystics, alchemists, astronomers, astrologers, kabbalists, sufis, hermetics and followers of other esoteric traditions. After a pilgrimage of several years, he returns to Germany where he sets up an occult society which will become known as the Rosicrucians.
The members learn secret scripts and symbols by which they communicate with each other. They study medicine and natural sciences in combination with a mystical understanding of the cosmos, nature, and the human soul. They strive for clarity and purity of learning and knowledge, which they call an “alchemical distillation”. They purify their character through principles like unselfishness, generosity, humility, modesty and temperance. They master arts, sciences, crafts and the occult. They find these principles in the study of alchemy, kabbala and the texts of the ancient Egyptian mystic and magus, architect of pyramids and seeker of immortality,  known under his Greek name Hermes Trismegistos, from which we derive the concept of “hermetica” as a name for secret (hermetically closed) teachings. Discretely, they seek and select new candidates to whom they would transfer their knowledge. Their ultimate future goal is nothing less that the repair of the world. They are ordered to help and protect each other. They are sworn to absolute secrecy in which they remain for three centuries.
The Christian Rosenkreutz story has since become the foundation for an uninterrupted existence of a spiritually enlightened educational organisation believing in the “force of goodness” which still exists today under the name of The Ancient Mystical Order of the Rose Cross.
